Isle of Wight Gundog 20.03.2010

For a change, this year we decided to set sail and head to the Isle of Wight for the weekend and what a beautiful place it is! We set off at 2am to be at Southampton ferry port for a 6am departure (Zzzzz)

On arrival the weather was pretty grim but we headed to the show venue, an equestrian centre in Rookley.

The weather persisted to rain all day and it was really cold!

Anyway, despite the weather we did well in our breed classes with Phoebe winning Best Puppy in Breed and Whisky getting a good 2nd in the open class. The judge was Mr Peter Pavey (Manchela)

Phoebe was also placed 2nd in the Gundog Puppy Stakes under Mr Mike Masters (Manchela)

We stayed in a lovely, friendly bed and breakfast and on Sunday the weather was glorious so we spent the day exploring some of the fantastic beaches the island had to offer, whilst doing our other hobby of Geocaching.

What a fab weekend and we hope to go back next year!

Bridgwater Premier show 28.03.2010

This was a large open show held at the Hand Stadium in clevedon. Our judge for today was Miss Ann Nugent (Nulea). Unfortunately another show in the area and the breed council meeting seemed to have affected the entry a little. Despite this the turn out (although small) was quality.

Phoebe was awarded Best Puppy in Breed and Whisky was Best of Breed!

Exonian Canine Society 3.04.10

Today the breed was judged by Mrs Jane Lilley.

I was away in London for the Easter weekend and so Kimberley took the dogs to all the Easter shows and had lots of fun doing so!

From a lovely entry Phoebe was awarded BPIB and RBOB at just 10 months old - a great achievement!

Chris Pearn was awarded BOB with her Totenkopf Rocknrobin with Gwbert. He then went on to win Group 1 and BIS.

St Agnes Canine Association 4.04.10

Phoebe was awarded her 3rd BPIB for the weekend at this lovely single group open show held at the Royal Cornwall Showground.

A great end to a very successful weekend!

Bodmin Canine Society 11.04.10

This show was judged by Mrs J Ward.

Phoebe was awarded BPIB and went on to win her second PG1!

Phoebe's mother Grace (Asquanne's Grania with Franaille JW Sh.CM) made her first show appearance since having Phoebe's litter last June and pushed really hard for BOB but had to settle for RBOB. Still a great achievement and she powered around the ring like a she owned it!!

19.04.10 - Stoke Hill Beagles Companion Dog Show

This show was held in conjunction with the terrier and lurcher show at Pynes Hill Equestrian Centre in Exeter on a glorious sunny afternoon.

There was an excellent turnout and a great atmosphere.

This show was held at Westpoint on what seemed to be the hottest day of the year so far! I was working so Kimberley took all 3 dogs and had a very succesful day!

The judge was Mr Les Forfar (Glasedin) from Staffordshire. Being a weekday show, the entry wasn't great but he had some quality exhibits to handle.

Whisky (Asquanne's Goldstein), Phoebe (Franaille Oceans) and Grace (Asquanne's Grania) all won their respective classes and Grace went on to win Best of Breed and Phoebe Best Puppy and Puppy group 3.

It was Phoebe's first champ show in junior and from a lovely class of 11 she was placed 3rd, qualifying her for CRUFTS 2011.

To top off a great day, we stopped for cream teas with the Queen who was in residence! (OK so maybe I am slightly exaggerating, but we did see a blacked out Bentley with WILL 1 as the number plate!)

10.07.10

Phoebe was VHC in Yearling Bitch

19.03.11 - Torquay DCS

Today I was judging in Scotland and so Liam showed the dogs at this local show held at Exeter Livestock Centre. Phoebe was 1st in Special Yearling but spoilt her chances for BOB by misbehaving, despite numerous oportunities to redeem herself so lost out to Whisky.

2.4.11 - Exonian DCS

Our judge today was Miss Lauren Vincent (Rosslake). Phoebe was 1st in Graduate.

3.4.11 - St Agnes DCS

Due to being busy with Grace competing for Best Veteran in show, Kimberley had to take a very hyperactive Phoebe into the graduate class and I'm told she was extremely naughty (ha ha  - hard to believe!!) and she was placed 2nd.

16.4.11 - South West Gundog

Martin Sanders judged the breed today and awarded BOB to Mike Masters who later went on to win BIS.

Phoebe was 2nd in Graduate bitch.

17.04.11 - St Austell DCS

Today Penny Gowland (Remington) judged the gundog group. Kimberley was on a stewarding seminar so Liam accompanied me to the show.

The day didn't start particularly well with Whisky being stung and his face flaring up, but on veterinary advice he should be ok, but for obvious reasons I withdrew him from competition.

Phoebe won graduate and later went on to win BOB and Gundog Group 1!!!

07.05.11

Devon and Cornwall Cocker Club

Judge: Davis Bowers (Tudormist)

2nd in solid colour graduate and 1st in any colour bred by exhibitor

Phoebe was officially declared Devon and Cornwall Cocker of the Year 2010/11

16.08.11

Since June 2011, Phoebe has been very lightly shown due to an injury on the tip of her tail which has taken lots of nurturing and care to heal. She is now well on the way to recovery but we are awaiting the growth of the new hair on her tail to complete the process. Hopefully Phoebe will be back in the show ring towards the end of September.

Here are a few pics of her in the meantime for those of you who know and lover her!

April 2012

Phoebe has been flying the flag for Franaille throughout 2012. She has had a couple of nice BOB wins at Gloucester DCS, Bristol Dog Club where she was also group 3. She also has several RBOB to her credit including Ilfracombe DCS and Plymouth DCS.
